Taylor Guitars And Good Deals

Taylor Guitars are not necessarily known in the cheap guitar universe unless you're talking about the Baby Taylor. But deals on Taylor guitars do exist, especially in the used market.

The Taylor 12 string guitar on this page is proof that such deals do exist in the world we live in today. We procured it through a guitar student for the unbelievable price of $500 cash. Yeah, we had to throw in a few free guitar lessons, but we love teaching guitar so it was not an issue.

Now this particular guitar student claims to have bought it originally through a classified ad for less than $100. While this is not verifiable, we have no reason to doubt the story, because we also have been the beneficiaries of incredible Craigslist deals.

This Taylor Model 355 is no longer in production, just like the Fender GN-45SCE reviewed on our site.Hint: Look for discontinued models to offer most bang-for-the-buck!

Again, that works in your favor when cult-status has not yet been achieved with the model.

It also works for you when most guitar buyers are chasing the latest-greatest new offerings.

This 12 string Taylor guitar is another prime example of why CheapGuitarZine exists.

Why Buy Used
# 1: prices for brand-new Taylor 12 stringers start in the over $1000 range.

# 2: Net forums and chat rooms are indicating that the older Taylor 12-string models had higher quality manufacturing methods.

# 3: the instrument was flawless when we bought it and came with the high qualty Taylor hard case, 2 sets of strings and all the paperwork.

Our 355 model here features an ebony fretboard and bridge, which is common for most Taylor models, but a bonus in our eyes. High-quality Grover tuners keep all the 12 strings in tune. Strap buttons were installed from the factory. The included Taylor hard case is second-to-none in quality and durability, adding at least $250 to the value of this instrument.

So the next time you see me playing my Taylor, don't think to yourself, "Hey, that's not a cheap guitar!" Because while you may be right if you went out and got one today (very worth the money in it's own right), you'd be mistaken if you thought there weren't incredible deals out there on other Taylor models as well. Remember, think discontinued, and you'll most likely find a great value!
