Want to learn How to Play Guitar? TABS are sometimes the fastest way to get a lick, riff or solo. I highly recommend the Hal Leonard books, because they're super accurate and usually include the music staff notes, tabs and lyrics and vocal melodies.
Using TABS, however, can be difficult or frustrating because intricate solos are sometimes impossible to recreate without the help of a qualified instructor to help lead the way, mostly because of the rhythmic complexities involved.
I get a lot of emails asking where to get the TABS for the songs I teach. NOTE: Stay away from Internet TABS, they're hard to read, highly incorrect and make YOU sound like JUNK!
Great collections of songs are found in the Guitar Bible line-up from Hal Leonard. Three of their highly recommended titles are listed below with links to Guitar Tab - Authentic transcriptions, easy guitar, play alongs, methods and more at Sheet Music Plus.
We'll be teaching you these songs throughout the course of our lessons either privately or over the Net. So check them out.
GUITAR BIBLES
GUITAR WHITE PAGES
Please note that the Guitar TAB White Pages book is printed on very cheap paper cause it's 1000 pages long. It's not for everyone because many of the songs are difficult unless you have a teacher.
However, if you're OBSESSED with guitar playing and you want to have lots of different genres of songs at your fingertips, the White Pages line-up is highly recommended.
Grab one of these titles and start practicing and I guarantee you will raise the level of your playing.
Just note: many of these songs are for advanced players with at least 5 years of experience or for guitar teachers. You'll also need a good quality music stand to hold these books: they're over 1000 pages long!
