Clip-On Guitar Tuner Reviews, Comparisons

"The Clip On Guitar Tuner has become an indispensable tool in my gear bag on both live gigs and in the teaching studio."

KALA vs. Intelli IMT500

These indispensable little gadgets go by many names, but the best ones we've found are the Intelli IMT500 Clip-on Chromatic Tuner and the Kala KC02 Clip-on Tuner.

We're talking here about these little clip-on tuners that are just bigger than the size of a quarter.

Various types of these "contact" or "vibration" tuners are out there today, and they all pretty much do the same thing: tune the guitar through vibration rather than through sound.

Because these types of tuners don't have microphones, you can tune your guitar in a noisy room (i.e., band practice/on stage) and the tuner won't get confused by the background tones.

Top Picks for 2011

We recently compared the Kala KC02 Clip-on Tuner and to the Intelli IMT500 head to head. See the original video on this page to see the tuners used on electric guitars, acoustic guitars, electric bass, ukulele and Dobro.
