Condor Electric Guitars

More Tone For The Money!

Condor Electric Guitars look and feel a lot like a vintage classic from rock and roll's golden era. Yet they're modern, up-to-date rockers that sound incredible through an amp and are extremely affordable.

Very similar in design to the classic Fender Stratocaster, the Condor GX 40 features three single coil pickups in a Neck, Middle, Bridge configuration and a 5-way selector switch that mixes the tones between cutting edge bite to mellow.

While many cheap electric guitars scrimp on electronics, this is where the Condor shines, but we'll get to that near the end when we give you a sample clip of this guitar's sound in two contrasting musical styles.

The neck has 19 frets on a rosewood fretboard and the bodies are made of basswood or alder.

The guitar on this page features a Redburst finish, with a dark red color around the edges which lightly fades to reveal the wood grain toward the middle. Other colors include Honey Burst, Blue and Lava Red.

Strung with a set of .009-gauge strings, we found this Condor easy to play with a very fast neck. The tremolo bridge is very similar to those found on Fender Strats.

Plugging the guitar in is where it really stands out. That hard-to-find Strat "squawk" oozes from every note we could squeeze out when playing clean.

We were able to achieve a heavily distorted sound for an authentic heavy metal/thrash sound. Running the guitar through a jazz setting gave us the convincing tone to play "Misty". Sound clips coming very soon.

Condor Guitars Update

Here's what recent Condor buyers are saying in their own words:

"Granted my experience is rather limited in the matters of guitars and such but I have to say I LOVE this guitar!!! I wasn't sure about the color, I was originally wanting a lava red one but after seeing this one in my hands all I can say is WOW. Thanks for selling it to me. Now if I could just make it sound as good as you do. My brother in law stopped by last night and he was pretty impressed with it. He has been playing for some time. After playing it for a bit he commented on how nice the action was..."

Stay tuned for more info on these amazing guitars. They blow away every guitar in their price-range and play and sound like guitars costing up to 10x as much.

2009 Condor Electric Guitars Update

Well, we played 'em, sold 'em, and then.....POOF! that was it. As of presstime, Feb. 2009, Condor electric guitars are impossible to get stateside due to the faltering global economy, Chinese woes, supply issues, import/export business and a host of other woes.

The lesson here, though, is that cheap Chinese guitars are pretty much made in the same factories. They're just rebranded. Condor guitars were good because of the Quality Control exercised by the company. We are now on the lookout for other Chinese guitars with which we can provide the same high standards of QC, then you too will be able to enjoy a great Cheap Guitar!
