May 26, 2008, Long Island Student Search For Lessons
Early summer is a great time of year for many people, most of which are school kids who have the entire summer off!
A fair share of K-12 and college kids take summer lessons here at the LI Guitar School in Port Jefferson, NY.
If you're in the Long Island area, the benefits of studying the guitar this season are many and opportunity to advance awaits!
May 13, 2008, Selected TABS Recommended & For Sale
After 20 years of collecting guitar TAB publications, I've started liquidating my stock of out-of-print and vintage note-4-note transcription magazines, books and collections.
You'll find transcriptions to many classic rock songs from artists such as ACDC, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Rush, Pearl Jam, Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Pink Floyd, and so many more.
Many of them include standard notation as well as TAB and some even come with audio CDs with backing tracks so you can play along with your newly learned guitar part.
One of these collections even has a lesson, TAB and backing track to James Taylor's guitar part to "You've Got a Friend."
It's been a couple of weeks and you're going to be seeing a new issue of the CheapGuitarZine coming out.
We've launched a cool cover to represent what we believe is absolutely the best guitar zine out there today!
If you haven't already subscribed, do so now, the next issue will blow away the Premiere that went out a couple weeks ago with lots more high-quality content, exclusive offers and Subscribers Only guitar lessons and video feeds.
I've been using a Tascam CD Guitar Trainer for at least 2 years.
I rarely go a day without using it because it just does so much and has allowed me to improve my playing substantially, even after 30 years of playing the guitar!
If you're also interested in getting one of these, please do so through this page, which links to Musicians Friend.

May 2008 is rapidly approaching and so is the launch date for the CheapGuitarZine.
It's been a blast putting this first issue together, which took a lot more time because I was designing the look and feel of the newsletter as well as going for killer info and content.
It's almost done and should mail out probably some time next week after a few last minute details are squared away.
I'll spill the beans a bit just in case some of you reading this have not signed up yet: I'm giving away a brand-new electric guitar to one lucky CheapGuitarZine subscriber!
I'll repeat: The chance to win the FREE electric guitar is only available to subscribers.
More details will be revealed in the Zine, so don't miss out on an awesome, new guitar-focused Zine and a chance to win a FREE guitar!
Apr 13, 2008, Train Your Ear & Guitar By Learning From Your Heros
Learning the guitar by ear has come a long way!
In the 1970s when I started guitar, in order to figure out a fast guitar solo, we used to slow the music down by adjusting the turntable RPMs.
Yeah, the guitar solo would slow down, but the pitch would drop in like manner, making it a guessing game as to where the notes actually were on the fretboard.
Digital technology today allows almost any riff to be mastered, while staying in tune!
Take advantage of our fun and useful online electric guitar tuner, another great feature has just been added to www.Cheap-Guitars-Report.com.
It sounds like a real guitar. Has lots of cool buttons you can control with your mouse or keyboard...and it helps your guitar stay perfectly in tune while training your ear!
The realization came to me over the past few days, my homepage text was really my Mission Statement and deserved its own page.
The homepage will soon serve to guide readers through the various themed based areas on the site and separate those looking for cheap guitar info and those seeking to improve their guitar playing skills...
Today I lost a bid on a very cool Gibson The Paul II model electric guitar.
It's one of the last great American solid body deals made by Gibson. Discontinued, of course, but that's why it's on this site!
When you see one going for $350, jump on it like i did, biding my time until the last few seconds so as not to set off a feeding frenzy. Except
Ebayers have become savvy to these gems lately and the bidding was not and heavy in the end.
This is one axe where I will break my $500 limit and go a little higher, because it is an American made Les Paul and they will no doubt become classics as time goes on.
Plus have you seen prices for Les Pauls lately????
