100 Dollar Guitars 100 Dollar Guitars can either make or break your career as a guitar player. And I'm not talking about being a professional guitar player, although that's entirely possible for anyone who picks up an axe. What I mean is that this category can either be a curse if you find a terrribly made piece of junk and try to play great music on it. Or you could get a real gem, and find 6-string bliss for the rest of your life because of it. ![]() The kind of guitars you'll find here are invariably made in China, and come from the likes of Squier, Condor, Yamaha Prices in the field range from ZERO--think free electric guitars--to anywhere up to $199.99. That's our way of looking at it. Stick to names you may have heard of like Alvarez, Aria, Cordoba, Daisy Rock, Dean, First Act, Ibanez, Jasmine, the list grows daily. Chances are that unknown brands are completely a waste of time and are merely in this country to take advantage of beginners. We still think the best guitar in this category is the Squier 51. And until we find another one, or one of you readers points us to a great electric or acoustic in this field, we're sticking to our pick. We gave away a Custom Satin Black guitar in December 2008. You can find more info on that here. The video below reviews the guitar and gives more info, and dare we say, critiques, of the guitar in question. The video also gives a good idea of what to expect for ALLguitars in this price range. Return from 100 Dollar Guitars to the CheapGuitarZine homepage ![]() and reviews. |
